J1 Visa Service Fees
The J1 visa service fees include
- We will issue your DS-2019 form within 2 - 4 weeks after having received your complete and correct application documents, your payment receipt, and confirmation of your internship/training from your host company
- Direct FedEx Shipment of the DS-2019 to your home address
- Medical Insurance for the duration of your internship or training (optional insurance during grace period after internship/training)
- Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee ($180) paid by Intrax to the U.S. government
- Administrative costs associated with the processing of the DS-2019
- Pre-departure advisory services
- 24-hour emergency support during your stay in the USA
Not included
- Embassy fee for interview at the U.S. embassy ($140)
- If applicable: On-site visit (195€)
- Airfare, housing, personal expenses etc.
J1 Visa Service Fees

- The J1 Visa program fees can be paid by credit card or wire transfer. Please note that wire transfers may take up to 10 business days.
- Trainees and interns pay the same J1 visa service fees.
- You only pay for the length of your internship or training. No extra fee for time spent in the USA before or after the internship.
- An Intrax representative will contact you via email with payment instructions for our J1 visa service after you submit your DS-2019 Application for J1 Visa.

Please note: The following will delay issuance of your DS-2019:
- Delay in payment
- Incomplete or incorrect documents
- On-site visit
- Illegible documents (please make sure that scan and fax copies need to be of very high quality so that we can print, sign and scan them for further processing.)
- Intrax cannot contact your supervisor via phone to confirm your internship/training

On-Site Visit
Please note: If your host company does not have an annual revenue of $3 million or a minimum of 25 employees, and if Intrax has not worked with your host company before, Intrax needs to conduct an on-site visit. In this case, the process will take longer than two weeks.
Fee for on-site visit: 195 € / £ 165.
Placements at academic institutions or at federal, state, or local government offices are specifically excluded from such a site visit requirement.
J1 Visa Expedite Service
If you run out of time, you can use our J1 visa expedite service. We issue the DS-2019 within 2 business days after having received the complete application and payment and after having received confirmation of your placement from your Host Company.
Fee for expedite service: 600 € / £ 510.
J1 Visa Extension Fee
Participants who are in the USA and eligible to extend their program may submit a request for program extension. All program extensions will need prior approval of Intrax.
Extension fee: $400 administrative fee, plus a monthly insurance fee of $50 for the additional period of time, up to a total of 12 months (for interns and Hospitality trainees) or 18 months (for trainees).
J2 Visa Service Fee
The administrative fee for the DS-2019 for J2 visa application is 400 € / £ 340 for the first month (including medical insurance) and 40 € / £34 for each following month.
